The North Carolina Episode

So thrilled to welcome Laura Allen, a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist based in North Carolina. She is also an educator, consultant, former restauranteur, and the author of several books. Her ethics column Heart of Bodywork appears in Massage and Bodywork Magazine. While continuing to serve a handful of dedicated clients, she is also the President of Sales and Marketing at ACH Ventures, parent company to Cryoderm which makes plant-based Pain Relief and Therapeutic Massage products.

This podcast is part of my ongoing effort to have a chat with a massage therapist from every state in the USA. Please subscribe and follow! Given Laura’s storied career, we did chat about much more beyond her state.

Here is an overview…

  • Origin story as therapist

  • Becoming a massage professional in North Carolina

  • Maintaining a license in your state

  • Thoughts on a National standard

  • State of NC during Covid crisis

  • What you’re doing during the shutdown

  • Reaction to news that Georgia is re-opening

  • Spending time during quarantine

  • The new normal after this crisis

  • What do you expect to see when we get back to work

  • The Educated Heart and Nina McIntosh
